About the Opportunity

Are you a hands-on technical leader with a passion for metallurgy, innovation, and operational excellence?We are seeking a Technical Manager (Metallurgist) to lead our metallurgical team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and performance.

You'll play a critical role in developing new products, improving processes, and supporting customer satisfaction — all while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and results.

? What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a talented team of metallurgists, setting clear expectations for safety, quality, and performance.
• Prioritize and balance technical workload based on dynamic business needs.
• Champion continuous improvement by driving initiatives to enhance process and product quality and consistency.
• Develop and implement plans for new product manufacturing processes.
• Drive First Time Through (FTT) quality improvements across production units.
• Ensure full compliance with quality systems (AS9100, Nadcap) and regulatory standards.
• Manage and lead product development projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of customer solutions.
• Support OEM qualification activities and customer requirements through metallurgical expertise.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective action implementation for non-conformities and customer complaints.
• Build capabilities in SPC, SQC, Lean manufacturing, and statistical analysis.
• Report on key metrics to ensure clear communication of technical performance and progress.

? What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science and Engineering (required).
• 5+ years in a process manufacturing environment (specialty steel preferred), with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise with specialty steels, including stainless, low alloy, bearing steels, and high-temp materials.
• Strong technical background with VIM, VAR, hot working, heat treating, machining/finishing, and NDT/DT testing.
• Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
• High-level problem-solving, analytical, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Advanced computer literacy and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• U.S. citizenship or ITAR-compliant status (VISA sponsorship considered for strong candidates).
