Travel Forestry Technician

As a Travel Forestry Technician, you will play a vital role in restoring natural habitats by participating in hands-on fieldwork across multiple states. Responsibilities

• Participate in invasive species removal, vegetation management, and site restoration activities
• Apply and document herbicides in compliance with regulations
• Assist with mapping, tracking, and coordination with state and local agencies
• Support tree planting and reforestation efforts
• Operate and maintain equipment such as trimmers, brush hogs, chainsaws, and hand tools
• Set up and maintain traffic control zones, including signage and cones
• Perform physically demanding work in outdoor, uneven, and wooded terrain
• Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Conduct daily fueling, greasing, sharpening, and cleaning of equipment
• Complete pre-trip inspections before operating equipment
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and support overall project success

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel for extended periods
• Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rough terrain
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Commitment to safety and following PPE requirements (long sleeve shirt, full-length pants, steel or composite toe boots, eye and ear protection, gloves)

Compensation
