Development Intern - Donor Relations & Grants (Summer Internship)

About the Job:

Philadelphia area nonprofit adoption agency (Wynnewood, PA) seeking to fill a Donor & Fundraising Summer Internship within our Marketing and Communications Team. Are you passionate about making a difference? Join our nonprofit organization and become a vital part of our small, dynamic MARCOM team.

We have three interns who are a part of our team in total, each focued on different aspects. The focus for this internship includes:

The Donor/Fundraising/Grant Intern helps strengthen our mission by researching grant opportunities, supporting donor outreach, and assisting with fundraising campaigns while also making connections and building relationships with donors and community partners. They also help maintain accurate donor records and prepare materials for development initiatives. It’s a great opportunity to gain real experience in nonprofit fundraising.

All internships include social media management, marketing-related tasks, blog writing, data entry, and assistance with agency outreach efforts.

All our interns will be supervised by the Marketing Manager and will work alongside AFTH's Marketing and Communications Team being exposed to a wide range of experiences within a non-profit marketing and communications team.

What You’ll Experience:

• Exposure to Diverse Skill Sets: As a nonprofit with a small MARCOM team, interns will have the chance to explore various aspects of marketing and communications, broadening their horizons beyond their academic focus.
• Emphasis on Team Collaboration: Collaboration is at the heart of our work. You'll collaborate closely with our team members, seeing firsthand how our individual efforts unite to benefit not only our agency's 8 branch offices but the agency as a whole.
• Guidance and Support: We provide regular training, supervision, and mentorship to ensure that you thrive in your role. Weekly team meetings and monthly agency-wide meetings offer opportunities for learning and growth.

As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to dive into a diverse array of tasks, expanding your skill set beyond your specific area of study. We are looking for candidates who are excited to demonstrate thought leadership. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented and deadline-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Other Important Details:

• This summer internship can be either in-person or remote (of mix of both) internship position. Our office is located at 30-31 Hampstead Circle, Wynnewood, PA 19083.
• Candidates need to be available a minimum of 15 hours/week during the 9-5 workday (preference for one day to be Monday to participate in weekly team meetings).
• The position provides a $75 weekly stipend.
• Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to make a difference.
