Business Development Manager – Sales Engineer

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within an assigned geographic region. The role focuses on generating revenue growth through new customer acquisition, especially among Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), while supporting broader sales and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze regional markets and develop strategies to penetrate new accounts.

• Manage the complete sales process from prospecting through closing.

• Collaborate with internal account managers to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

• Travel up to 50% to engage with clients.

Customer Engagement & Market Insight:

• Understand customer needs—both technical and commercial—to offer tailored solutions.

• Build strong relationships with technical, purchasing, and executive stakeholders.

• Use customer feedback to inform product innovation and future strategy.

Internal Coordination:

• Coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, production, and customer service to ensure smooth project execution.

• Maintain detailed CRM records and assist with sales forecasting updates.

Technical Expertise:

• Maintain strong technical knowledge of products and their applications to serve as a trusted advisor to customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in business development or account management, ideally in manufacturing or industrial sales.

• Experience with electro-mechanical components, fluidics, pump technologies, pressure systems, or small motors is preferred.

• Strong sales and communication skills, including presentations and written proposals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Salesforce is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license required due to travel expectations.

Work Environment & Structure:

• Home-office based with frequent customer site visits.

• Exposure to standard office and occasional industrial production environments.

• No direct reports.
