Maintenance Mechanic
A Mechanical Technician is commonly expected to know how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical systems, apparatus and mechanical components of industrial machinery and equipment. You will be expected to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery. You will be expected to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances. You work daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working with risk lowered to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) specifically to achieve “ZERO HARM” so no injuries, illness or negative impact occurs to employees, property, the environment or the community. You will use your technical expertise to ensure the equipment is functioning accordingly to produce within quality specs and with the designed performance. To be successful in this role you will:
- Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics
- Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
- Possess ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Have a working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout
- Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures
- Basic knowledge of electrical components and concepts
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics
- Other mechanical duties as assigned
- Able to perform tasks independently
- Know and understand safety equipment and be aware of machine safety procedures
- Must have three plus years of industrial machinery maintenance experience to be considered.
- Broad Technical training (high school plus 1 to 2 years of apprenticeship/ applied trades training ). Training requires a basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment required. Multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
- Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.
