Head of School

Position Overview
The Head of School (HOS) serves as the chief administrator and spiritual leader of Penn Christian Academy. Reporting to the School Board, the HOS is responsible for the overall operation of the school, including spiritual formation, academic programs, fiscal management, and community relations. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who embodies the school's mission to provide a Christ-centered education in a nurturing environment and is passionate about continuing PCA's legacy of Christian education, through academic excellence and strong Christian discipleship.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Spiritual Leadership- Ensure that the school's mission, vision, and core Christian values are integrated into all aspects of campus life
- Model a vibrant Christian faith and provide spiritual mentorship to faculty, staff, and students
- Uphold the school's doctrinal statement and ensure all curriculum aligns with a Biblical worldview
- Communicate the PCA mission, vision, and history in a compelling manner
- Partner with the Board to provide high-level strategic direction for the school, faculty, and staff
- Collaborate with and supervise the school leadership team
- Communicate effectively and in ways that unify our community
- Foster and maintain good relationships between PCA, ACSI (our accreditation agency), other Christian schools, local churches, and community organizations
- Act as the primary "face" of the school to attract new families and lead admissions efforts to maintain and grow the student body
- Build relationships with donors and the community to advance PCA's impact
- Lead, with Board engagement, the strategic development and sustainability of an enrollment management plan, a marketing plan, and a development plan
- Develop and monitor the operating budget, reporting to and communicating with the Board regarding financial opportunities or concerns
- Oversee facilities management, ensuring a safe and well-maintained learning environment
- Serve as the chief academic officer, with broad oversight of teaching and learning at PCA
- Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality Christian educators and staff
- Manage day-to-day operations and implement school policies effectively
- Oversee professional development and teacher evaluations to ensure instructional excellence
- Evaluate and refine the curriculum to meet or exceed accreditation standards
Qualifications
- Faith: A confessed and demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local church
- Education: Master's degree in education, school administration, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 5--7 years in educational leadership, preferably in a private or Christian school setting
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking abilities
- Proven track record in financial management and budgeting
- Ability to resolve conflicts with grace and Biblical wisdom

The Search and Selection Process
The search will be led by the PCA School Board Search Committee, which in addition to board members may also include staff and parents. The final candidate selection will be made by the PCA School Board. The search will be conducted in a professional, consistent manner with a commitment to all potential candidates being afforded the same considerations.
