Our client is seeking a Technology Manager to oversee technology operations and serve as the primary liaison between the organization and its Managed Service Provider (MSP). This role is ideal for someone who excels at process improvement, project coordination, documentation, communication, and vendor management rather than day-to-day technical administration.
The Technology Manager will help create structure and accountability across the IT function by managing policies, procedures, training documentation, software administration, technology projects, and business processes while ensuring the MSP delivers high-quality support and services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and its MSP, ensuring service levels and project objectives are achieved.
• Manage and coordinate technology projects, including scope development, project plans, timelines, meeting notes, status reporting, and business documentation.
• Supervise an onsite IT Technician and coordinate support activities with the MSP.
• Develop, document, and continuously improve IT policies, procedures, workflows, and standard operating practices.
• Oversee administration of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments, including user access, permissions, governance, and collaboration tools.
• Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and technology documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on software implementations, upgrades, and technology initiatives.
• Work with the MSP to maintain network infrastructure, cybersecurity, backup, disaster recovery, and overall system reliability.
• Communicate effectively with employees, management, board members, and external vendors regarding technology initiatives and priorities.
• Ensure technology investments align with business needs and operational goals.
Qualifications:
• Experience in IT management, technology operations, IT project management, business systems administration, or a related leadership role.
• Experience managing MSPs, vendors, and third-party technology partners.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and business technology platforms.
• Proven ability to develop policies, procedures, documentation, and operational processes.
• Strong project coordination and organizational skills, including meeting facilitation, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting organizations with 500+ users.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience creating training programs, user documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Microsoft 365 Administrator, or related credentials are a plus.
