Front of House Manager

National Mechanics is an established Old City neighborhood bar and restaurant with nearly 20 years of history. We operate as a gastropub, event space, cocktail bar, and community gathering place depending on the day. The environment is casual, high energy, and operationally dynamic.

We are hiring a Front of House Manager who understands service flow, team structure, and real-world hospitality leadership. This is a working floor role, not an office position.

You will be responsible for keeping service organized, supporting staff performance, coordinating private events and parties, and maintaining a consistent guest experience during busy shifts and everyday service.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead floor service and maintain strong guest experience standards
• Build and manage weekly staff schedules
• Train, coach, and develop FOH staff
• Answer inquiries for private parties and events
• Coordinate party details and ensure proper setup and execution
• Maintain FOH inventory and par levels
• Handle guest concerns professionally and decisively
• Support opening, closing, and shift transitions
• Step into service positions when needed

What We’re Looking for

• Previous FOH leadership or management experience in a busy restaurant or bar
• Strong floor awareness and calm decision-making under pressure
• Clear communicator with staff and guests
• Comfortable holding standards while staying approachable
• Organized, reliable, and operationally minded
• Comfortable managing both daily service and event logistics

Schedule & Availability

• Full-time, typically a 5 day work week
• Evening-focused schedule
• Availability expected Wednesday through Sunday
• Schedule may shift or change based on business needs and events

Compensation & Details

• $25 per hour
