Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Overview

A global leader in advanced manufacturing solutions is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist / Mechanic to support continuous plant operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is a union position requiring a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (days and nights).

Key Responsibilities

-Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment

-Machine and fabricate parts using lathes, mills, grinders, and other shop tools

-Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings

-Execute preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability

-Diagnose issues involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

-Maintain accurate repair documentation

-Support installation and modification of equipment

-Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment

-Collaborate with maintenance and production teams

Requirements

-5+ years of experience in a machine shop or industrial maintenance environment

-Proficiency with machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)

-Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools

-Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

-Welding and fabrication experience

-Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, etc.)

-Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights) and overtime as needed

Preferences

-Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

-Prior union experience

-Forklift/tow motor certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

-Strong team collaboration skills and self-motivation
