We’re currently seeking an Assistant Center Director for our Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Center in Reamstown. This would be a Full Time, non-exempt position.

WHAT YOU DO:

As an Assistant Center Director with Luthercare for Kids, you’re an integral part of nurturing children and providing a firm foundation for their academic and social growth. You’ll do this in several ways, which include: 

  1. Plans, writes and implements lesson plans incorporating learning standards and individualized goals for children. Evaluates effectiveness of lesson planning in carrying out goals for children.
  2. Maintains daily communication with families to address questions and concerns as they arise. Conducts parent-teacher conferences as directed by center director annually.
  3. Assists in coordinating activities of teachers, teacher aides and other support staff; may contribute to the functional supervision of team members in the center director’s absence.
  4. Assists the Center Director with planning and implementing daily activities for the center. Works with other childcare centers to coordinate special group activities.
  5. Assists the Center Director with the following designated activities: maintaining grant paperwork and standards, billing processes, implementing planned staffing pattern, maintaining electronic and paper files on all children, maintaining lesson plans and assessment data, written communication with clients, internal marketing efforts and maintaining supplies.
  6. Follows and ensures Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations are followed by others. Addresses violations immediately based on severity or reports violations immediately to the Center Director.
  7. Attends staff meetings; assists the Center Director with meetings and professional development endeavors as identified.
  8. Assists Center Director in maintaining PA Keystone STARS 4 quality rating and implementing changes as needed to ensure STARS Reaccreditation.
  9. Provides floating support to our centers, ensures adequate supervision and support for children, helps with transitions, and steps in during busy times or staff absences.
  10. Schedules tours with prospective families, monitors enrollment, follows up with leads, and provides administrative support to our centers.
  11. Attends and participates in projects, special events, committees, community events, conferences and continuing education as recommended by the Center Director. Completes required mandatory training as assigned.
  12. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, family members, staff, volunteers and community partners.
  13. Maintains the standards set forth by grant initiatives being implemented by the center.
  14. Assists with general marketing efforts of the child care programs.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Current PA Drivers License.
  2. Assistant Directors must meet one (1) of the following criteria:
  3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and one (1) year of experience with children.
  4. Currently enrolled in an associate’s degree program from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and documented three (3) years of experience with children.

ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to lift/push & pull up to fifty (50) lbs.
  2. Ability to observe and document the development of children and design age-appropriate lesson plans.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in English in both written and spoken means to clients.
  4. Ability to stand up to 50% of working time.

Luthercare for Kids has two centers, located in Reamstown and Annville. Our experienced teaching staff support children within a safe and secure environment, bringing peace of mind to those who need our care and services. We offer individualized care and education for kids of all ages – from 6 weeks through school-age children.
