JOB TITLE: Ultrasonographer and assistant patient care coordinator

Responsibilities: perform ultrasound patient examinations based on approved ultrasound protocols and procedures and, when not engaged with patients, assists under guidance of nurse manager and physician to perform administrative duties *.

DUTIES: Gathers all patient radiology files and reports, schedules and utilizes Athena Capture app to place images into the EMR

Restock supplies at the end of the shift when necessary

Cleans room at end of each encounter and sterilizes equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

Able to adhere to the code of ethics and conduct of the Gianna Center. Completes a minimum of two peer reviews on an annual basis according to managers request and study required for review

OSHA and HIPPA training required

PREFERRED EXEPERIENCE:

Ultrasound Experience required

Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology program and/or ultrasound program

ARDMS registry required

Certification in abdomen and ob/gyn required within a year of hire dates

Knowledge of computer basics a must

Training in Athena EMR

REQUIRED PERSONALITY TRAITS

Empathetic attitude essential

Passion for the proper care of patients

Demonstrates competency in the use of telephone system

Manage patient accounts in a confidential manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent use of fingers and hand in operating equipment and for paper work

Must be able to do frequent bends , stoops and crouches

Must be able to reach shoulder level

Must be able to hear and see as it relates to normal hearing and vision

* These include but are not limited to answering calls, greet and check in patients, communicate with patient about their status and condition using Athena EMR, schedule appointment and maintain calendars, assist with insurance pre authorization process, manage patient accounts, other administrative as deemed necessary for work.
