Johnson College is currently seeking part-time Advanced Manufacturing Instructors. The candidate must have experience working with manual mills and lathes, including working with various cutting tools, end mills, boring equipment, and rotary index equipment. Qualified candidates must know how to manually write CNC programs and knowledge of G & M codes, and use CNC mills and lathes. Candidates must have Master CAM experience.
Responsibilities include course development, instructional delivery, and student assessment. The instructor will be responsible for organizing and delivering class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner, maintaining an organized and safe lab; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs, keeping accurate records of student performance and making timely submission of academic records; and providing students with timely feedback.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd, have a passion for recruiting into the skilled trades, and have a flexible work schedule to include morning/afternoon classes. All teaching positions require a minimum of an Associate's degree and/or 4-5 years of technical experience. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required for most positions. Individuals must have strong communication skills, the ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, knowledge of industry standards, assessment skills, organizational skills, and word processing skills.
