Master Electrician
Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to lead and perform comprehensive electrical inspections across commercial and federal facilities, including VA hospitals. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with NFPA standards (NFPA 70 / NEC), identifying system deficiencies, and providing expert recommendations for corrective action. Work is primarily conducted after hours (4:00 PM - 10:00 PM), with potential overtime.

Lead and perform detailed electrical inspections in commercial and federal facilities

Inspect and evaluate panels, transformers, fuses, and life safety systems

Conduct infrared (thermographic) imaging to identify electrical risks and overheating

Assess transformer conditions, including lubrication and component integrity

Identify code violations, safety hazards, and compliance gaps

Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports

Recommend corrective actions aligned with NFPA 70 / NEC and federal standards

Serve as a technical authority on-site for inspection activities
Perform work during evening hours; overtime may be available

Skills and Requirements

Active state Master Electrician license (required)

Extensive experience with commercial electrical systems and inspections

Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70 / NEC and life safety codes

Proven experience using infrared inspection tools

Ability to independently evaluate systems and make technical recommendations

OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
Familiarity with VA hospitals or federal facility requirements (preferred)
