Supervisor, Dome Installation
Summary:
The Dome Installation Supervisor is a field-based project installation management role responsible for the successful execution of projection domes and LED CX-Display installations at customer sites, both domestically and internationally. This role is accountable for quality, schedule, and budget on every project.
This hands-on working Supervisor leads through planning, clear delegation, daily visual management, and consistent coaching. Success in this role is defined by the performance of the team. This person sets the standard for how work gets done, holds the team to that standard, and develops individuals to reach it.
This person has managed complex field installations, worked alongside general contractors and third-party trades, and delivered projects on time, on budget, and at the right quality level. They have a continuous improvement mindset, look for better ways to work, and share what they learn with the team.
Responsibilities:
Safety
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policy, OSHA standards, and applicable government regulations.
- Conduct or coordinate daily safety briefings. Enforce the use of proper PPE at all times.
- Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions are identified. Address the condition before resuming.
Project & Field Management
- Manage the full scope of the installation from mobilization through final acceptance, including coordination with the GC, subcontractors, and third-party trades.
- Develop and maintain a daily work plan. Use visual management tools to track progress against schedule, identify gaps, and coordinate team assignments.
- Coordinate site access, sequencing, and logistics in alignment with the GC’s construction schedule.
- Report project status to the home office on a regular cadence, including schedule, budget, quality, and any risks requiring escalation.
- Conduct a formal acceptance review with the customer at project close. Ensure all required documentation is completed, signed, and submitted.
Quality Oversight
- Inspect installation work daily against quality standards and project specifications.
- Identify and document non-conformances, and drive corrective action before defects are built in.
- Report design or engineering issues to the home office for resolution.
- Complete and submit the Installation Services Performed form at project close.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, direct, and mentor both Cosm crew and locally hired labor throughout the installation.
- Assign tasks based on individual skill level. Coach team members to improve. Recognize strong performance and address poor performance directly and promptly.
- Prepare and approve time sheets for all crew members.
- Evaluate crew performance. Recommend remedial action or removal of locally hired workers who do not meet company standards.
Resource & Logistics Coordination
- Manage procurement of materials and consumables needed on site. Track expenditures against the project budget.
- Direct loading, unloading, and staging of delivery vehicles and materials at the job site.
- Coordinate with the home office and supply chain on material delivery schedules and any site-driven changes.
- Manage travel arrangements for the installation team, including flights, accommodations, and ground transportation.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years supervising construction or specialty installation crews.
- High school diploma or GED required. Degree or Certification in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Proven construction and project management skills: scheduling, budget tracking, GC and trade coordination.
- Effective people management: delegation, coaching, crew development, and accountability.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the project team.
- Continuous improvement orientation with the ability to identify and drive practical solutions.
- Ability to read construction drawings, installation documentation, and technical work instructions.
- Hands-on with power and hand tools. Comfortable working at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and U.S. passport, or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to pass FBI and State background checks for work in public schools and government facilities.
- OSHA 30 required (within past 5 years). OSHA 10 accepted with commitment to obtain OSHA 30 within 6 months.
- Forklift, Scaffold Safety, and Aerial Lift certifications required (all within past 5 years).
- Willingness to travel extensively, domestically and internationally. 100% travel.
- Experience in specialty, theatrical, themed entertainment, or technology installation preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean construction practices or construction management software preferred.
Working Conditions
- Active construction job site environments.
- On feet 8–10 hours per day.
- Regular climbing of scaffolding, towers, and aerial lifts. Frequent work at heights with proper PPE.
- Use of power tools and hand tools throughout the workday.
- Work performed in environments that may not be climate-controlled.
- Heavy work: occasional lifting up to 100 lbs; frequent lifting of 26–50 lbs.
