Azure & Entra ID Platform Engineering Lead

Role overview

Picture your Monday morning: you scan overnight dashboards, check Azure cost and security posture, and line up the day’s work for a team of engineers focused on Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 governance. Before lunch, you’re syncing with the M365/Azure Principal Architect to turn architectural direction into concrete, prioritized engineering tasks. By afternoon, you’re reviewing policy automation, validating landing zone changes, and ensuring our global operations run smoothly and securely.

Location & work style

• Based in Cranberry Township, PA
• Hybrid schedule: three days on-site, two days remote each week

Reporting line

This position reports to the Sr. Manager – User Experience & Collaboration.

What you will lead

• People leadership
  • Coach, develop, and set clear expectations for Azure, Entra ID, and cloud identity engineers.
  • Balance team workload, sequence priorities, and drive high-quality execution and delivery.
  • Champion accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Azure platform engineering
  • Direct the design and governance of subscriptions, resource groups, and landing zones.
  • Standardize RBAC, policy initiatives, automation, and observability.
  • Optimize cost, security posture, and performance while aligning with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy.
• Microsoft Entra ID & hybrid identity
  • Own directory services engineering, identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, authentication, and privileged identity governance.
  • Keep hybrid identity healthy with reliable sync and federation.
  • Advance the roadmap for identity modernization.
• Microsoft 365 tenant governance
  • Manage tenant-wide configuration, compliance baselines, administrative roles, and license enablement.
  • Enforce consistent policies and configuration standards across the tenant.
• Governance, security & compliance
  • Apply governance across Azure, Entra ID, and M365 administration.
  • Uphold cybersecurity standards, regulatory and audit requirements, and IT governance frameworks.
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and reference architectures.
• Automation & reliability
  • Drive automation with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
  • Create reusable engineering patterns and operational processes.
  • Improve reliability with monitoring, alerting, and proactive remediation.

What you’ll bring

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years engineering in Azure, Entra ID, or enterprise cloud identity.
• 1–2+ years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platform governance and automation.
• Strong Azure platform engineering and governance expertise.
• Hands-on mastery with Entra ID, identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, and authentication patterns.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and cloud automation tooling.

Partnerships

You will partner closely with the M365/Azure Principal Architect, converting strategic architecture into actionable implementation plans for the team.

Compensation

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
