Truck Driver (Local)

As a Local Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in transporting finished goods from our facility to clients throughout the Northeast region. Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods between the facility and assigned destinations in the Northeast region.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Accurately document and log work/rest periods, mileage, and retain fuel and toll receipts.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions and ensure proper securing of cargo.
• Collect and verify delivery documentation at each stop.
• Safely handle and unload products at designated locations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members as needed.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including fueling, oil checks, and tire pressure monitoring.
• Report any vehicle or trailer damages using the company’s maintenance system.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations.
• Report any animal welfare concerns to management immediately.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid CDL license required.
• At least 4 years of experience operating tractor-trailers and reefer units.
• Experience maneuvering and parking tractor-trailers.
• Proficient with GPS and routing systems.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on safety.
• Basic math skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing schedules.
• Ability to meet all assigned work schedules and attendance requirements.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Physically able to sit for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds (and up to 80 pounds with assistance), and perform tasks such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, and squatting for vehicle inspections.
