Our client is a worldwide hydrocarbon production and exploration company based in the energy corridor of Midland, Texas. A multinational corporation with operations in 15 different countries, this client is responsible for the production, transportation, and marketing of crude oil, bitumen, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and liquefied natural gas.
Job Summary
The Senior Regulatory Specialist is responsible for providing regulatory planning, permitting, and environmental compliance support across projects at the local, state, and federal levels. This professional serves as the key point of contact for project teams and regulatory agencies, ensuring environmental review and permitting requirements are integrated into project execution. The role develops regulatory strategies, maintains agency relationships, and analyzes compliance metrics to support project success and promote environmental stewardship.
Job Description
- Provides regulatory planning, permitting and compliance support.
- Participates in team project execution to ensure that all tasks related to environmental review/permitting at the local, state and federal levels are integrated into current project planning efforts, implemented, secured and in compliance.
- Ensures compliance with internal environmental and regulatory procedures (compliance assurance, operations excellence).
- Develops environmental contracting, regulatory, and permitting strategies.
- Maintains and enhance federal, state, and local agency relationships with specific emphasis on environmental review, permitting processes, environmental stewardship, surface management, as well as land access.
- Coordinates the collection of and analyzing regulatory metrics
Skills Required
- Experienced level, typically 5-7 years of experience.
- Requires a strong understanding of discipline.
- Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations.
- Makes decisions within broad parameters.
- Acts as an informal resource for others with less experience.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
