Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,280 - $2,340

• Location: York, Pennsylvania 17403 (York healthcare jobs)
• Facility Type: Hospital – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: 4x10-hour days (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM); alternative 5x8-hour or 3x12-hour schedules available
• Hours per Week: 40
• On-Call: 1-2 call days per week with 30-minute response time; every 3rd or 4th weekend on-call (Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 6:00 AM)
• Holidays: Work 2 of 3 major holidays as needed
• Floating: Float to other units as needed
• Orientation: 30 hours

Surgical Tech Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience in a hospital setting
• Experience in a Level I trauma center required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA certification required; NCCT not accepted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to take call with a 30-minute response time
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Tobacco and fragrance free
• At least 1 year of experience required

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and CVOR team in complex cardiac surgical procedures, including open heart surgeries
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety during all procedures
• Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment (electrosurgical units, ECMO, VAD, endovascular devices)
• Prepare and handle surgical specimens according to hospital protocol
• Participate in call rotation and respond within 30 minutes as required
• Accurately document procedures and patient information using EPIC
• Adhere to universal protocols, safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines
• Float to other units and provide care for COVID patients if needed
