Hourly Pay: $24.00 – $32.00 / hour (based on experience)

What You’ll Do

• Master the Machines: Set up, calibrate, and run multi-axis CNC turning centers, lathes, and mills to craft high-grade iron, steel, and bronze components.

• Dial in Precision: Read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and establish machine coordinates, tool heights, and offsets using edge finders, height blocks, and indicators.

• Inspect Your Craft: Use micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges to perform in-process inspections and hold tight tolerances on pressure-rated parts.

• Keep It Running Smooth: Monitor cutter paths, chip flow, and machine acoustics to spot tool wear early; make G-code/M-code edits and offsets on the fly.

• Maintain the Standard: Perform routine machine maintenance and keep a safe, organized 5S workspace.

What You Bring

• Shop Experience: 2+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC metalworking machinery.

• Print & Tooling Literacy: Confidence reading engineering drawings, adjusting offsets, and using precision measuring tools.

• Problem-Solving Drive: strong mechanical reasoning and math skills to troubleshoot machine behavior and optimize setups.

• Physical Readiness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand comfortably throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Perform setups, tool selection, and machine operation for 2-axis, multi-axis, or Swiss-style CNC turning and milling equipment.

• Blueprint Reading & Offsets: Interpret engineering drawings, shop blueprints, and process sheets. Establish tool heights, machine coordinates, and dimensional offsets using edge finders, height blocks, and indicators.

• Quality Control & Inspection: Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges) to hold tight tolerances on pressure-rated components.

• Process Monitoring: Monitor cutter paths, chip flow, coolant, and machine harmonics to detect tool wear or out-of-tolerance conditions; make appropriate G-code/M-code edits and offsets.

• Equipment Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine preventative maintenance, line cleanouts, and daily safety inspections. Maintain a clean work environment adhering to 5S and workplace safety standards.

The essential functions of this role include:
