Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800 - $1840

Key Job Details – Med/Surg RN Locum Tenens

• Location: Johnstown, PA 15905 (Western Pennsylvania healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (22 beds, Level 1 Trauma Center)
• Position Type: Locum tenens / Travel RN contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); open to rotating shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/as needed
• Call Requirement: As needed
• EMR: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Any (no casual attire)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (2+ years preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience in Surgical, Ortho, Trauma, Joint Replacement Center, Stepdown, Cardiac, or PCU preferred
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Completion of all required screenings and clearances prior to start (PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, fingerprinting)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients in a medical/surgical setting
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
• Float to other units as required to support patient care needs
