• Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 (Southeast Iowa nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract Nursing
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours upon request)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Patient Population: Adults, including geriatric patients
• Electronic Health Record: MediTech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Clear background checks (criminal and child abuse)
• Drug screening (10-panel including opiates)
• Recent titers (within last 12 months)

RN Responsibilities – Clinical Support

• Provide compassionate nursing care to adult patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare teams
• Document patient care accurately using MediTech EHR
• Work with support staff (CNA, LPNs) to maintain optimal patient ratios (1:6)
• Float to other units or facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and mandatory reporting requirements
