Front End Software Engineer

This is a four day in-office position. The office is located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. We are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Front-End Engineer with strong design sensibilities to bridge the gap between UI/UX design and software engineering. This role will combine mobile and web front-end development, part-time UX/UI design responsibilities, and collaboration with our software team on full-stack tasks.

The ideal candidate excels in creating intuitive and visually compelling user experiences while having the technical depth to implement them across modern frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

• Develop, maintain, and optimize mobile and web interfaces using Flutter and React.js
• Translate Figma designs and wireframes into high-quality, responsive UI components
• Ensure seamless performance, usability, and accessibility across devices and platforms

UX/UI Design

• Own the design process part-time, including wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and visual design
• Create, update, and manage design systems in Figma
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user experience and interaction patterns

Full Stack & Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the software engineering team to support backend integrations
• Contribute to backend tasks as needed, preferably with Python
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile workflows
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and proactively improve them

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in front-end or full-stack development
• Strong proficiency in Flutter (mobile) and React.js (web)
• Demonstrated experience using Figma for UX/UI design
• Working knowledge of Python for backend or scripting tasks
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility principles, and modern UI patterns
• Portfolio of designs and implementation of designs
