.NET Application Developer

Location: Harrisburg, PA
Position Type: Remote
Contract Length: Long-term with annual extensions

Position Overview:
Seeking an application software developer responsible for supporting accessibility compliance initiatives while maintaining and enhancing complex web-based systems. The developer works both independently and collaboratively, leading development efforts and delivering scalable, compliant solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience developing applications using VB.Net

• 5 years of experience developing web applications with ASP.Net

• 5 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript for client-side development

• 5 years of experience working with XML for data exchange and integration

• 5 years of experience designing and developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

• 5 years of experience working with SQL Server databases , including data modeling and querying

Duties:

• Analyze and interpret user and business requirements in collaboration with project team members and propose technical solutions

• Lead application development efforts and provide technical direction to development team members

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex web-based software applications

• Develop user interface, business logic, database, and reporting components to meet functional requirements

• Ensure accessibility functionality and compliance through the use of HTML and style sheets

• Propose and design database structures for review and approval by database administrators

• Support and execute data migration activities from existing databases

• Develop applications using VB.Net, ASP.Net, JavaScript, XML, SQL Server, and SQL Server Reporting Services

• Utilize Visual Studio as the primary development environment

• Adhere to established coding standards, database standards, and development best practices

• Use Azure DevOps for source code control, work item tracking, testing activities, and documentation versioning

• Estimate development effort and timelines to support project planning

• Provide regular status updates and communicate progress, risks, and issues to the project manager

• Perform unit and regression testing, identify defects, and resolve issues in developed code

• Present complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders

• Document solutions, mentor team members, and provide knowledge transfer to IT staff

• Perform additional related duties as assigned
