Position Description
As a UI Designer supporting the Comcast Business Digital Global Design System , you will be responsible for creating, evolving, and maintaining a scalable, high‑quality design system used across ComcastBusiness.com. This role centers on developing consistent, accessible, and globally adaptable UI components and guidelines that enable teams to deliver cohesive user experiences worldwide.
You will collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, engineers, front‑end developers, content delivery specialists, researchers, accessibility experts, and brand partners to ensure the system reflects best practices, supports localization, and streamlines design and development workflows across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, document, and refine reusable components for use across the website.
- Maintain and uphold scalable, consistent visual standards, including color palettes, iconography, spacing, and layout rules.
- Act as a thought leader on usability and accessibility standards, ensuring accessibility is embedded in all core design system components.
- Work independently and collaboratively with product managers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Build robust documentation to support adoption of the design system, including component guidelines and best‑practice examples.
- Help define governance processes and rules for all teams using the system.
- Participate in project definition sessions and cross‑team exercises to outline and document scope.
- Advocate for consistency, clarity, and user‑centered design at all stages.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in UI/UX or related disciplines within agile environments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high‑quality work.
- Ability to simplify complex information into intuitive application designs.
- Experience leading or contributing to global design systems.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Figma and rapid prototyping tools.
- Experience with design system publishing tools such as Zeroheight and Storybook .
- Strong technical acumen and the ability to quickly understand new technologies.
- Familiarity with fundamentals of web and mobile operating systems.
- Experience designing for CMS-driven, component‑based ecosystems and delivering design assets to development and content‑management teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Skilled at creating designs that support both user and business objectives.
- Understanding of industry and competitor best practices.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; ability to work variable schedules as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Fields of study may include: Graphic Design, User Experience, Interaction Design, HCI, Information Sciences, or related areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Plays a key role in the experience design team supporting Comcast Business digital initiatives, covering design, content strategy, and research for sales‑focused digital experiences.
- Collaborates with UI design leadership specializing in brand, interaction design, and coordination with marketing and development teams for design system delivery.
- Responsible for expanding style guides, maintaining visual consistency, and understanding limitations across mobile, desktop, and tablet.
- Works closely with development teams and CMS workflows, including component creation and AEO‑focused structures.
- Functions as part of a fully staffed product pod including UX, UI, Content, Product, and Development.
- Engages with AI‑enhanced design tools, including tools such as Copilot.
This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
