Summary of the Role : The Pharmacist uses medical knowledge and pharmaceutical expertise to support patient care, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the continuous development of patient care practices. This role plays a key part in delivering an optimal patient experience while supporting efficient and compliant dispensary operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Review and verify patient eligibility, including determining applicable consumption restrictions or purchase limitations prior to order verification, and take appropriate action when constraints are identified.
- Consult with and advise patients and caregivers on medical marijuana products, approved consumption methods, and any accessories required for proper use.
- Educate patients and caregivers on potential contraindications, side effects, and possible drug interactions involving prescription medications, over-the-counter products, or herbal supplements.
- Provide product and dosage recommendations, suggest practical and appropriate consumption methods, and communicate best practices to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Update and maintain patient certifications within the state electronic tracking system as required.
- Promote patient satisfaction by contributing to positive, informative, and supportive patient experiences.
- Stay informed on current clinical research, regulatory updates, and emerging developments related to medical marijuana.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving product formulations, consumption methods, and accessories.
- Develop educational content, including informational blogs, to support patient and community understanding of medical marijuana.
- Actively participate in community outreach initiatives and educational events.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the company’s internal research and development repository related to medical marijuana use and patient care practices.
- In addition to verification responsibilities, perform in store patient processing tasks including but not limited to Intake, Fulfillment, Point-of-sale duties, inventory and remain available on an on-call basis to support patient consultations and education as needed.
- Housekeeping : Support general cleanliness and organization of the facility in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Represent the company in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner when interacting with patients, caregivers, community stakeholders, and fellow healthcare professionals.
Qualifications :
- A valid Pharmacist, Certified Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, Certified license
- Minimum of two years of experience in the medical field.
- Experience in the marijuana industry preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively, work independently, and efficiently manage time.
- Demonstrate empathy and a genuine commitment to serving a diverse customer base with care and respect.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technology.
- Effective communication skills in a group and remote working environment.

- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 35pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Extended computer usage
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
- Comfortable working in an environment with constant video surveillance
