Ability to physically lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance and/or assists any student as required by students' physical needs. • The education qualification for a Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) position is a high school diploma with a passing acceptable IU 20 assessment to become highly qualified. Individuals who do not have two years of college or 48 college credits may become highly qualified by taking our local assessment. Description Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) needed for the Autistic Support program. You will assist in planning special activities and events to make learning engaging for students. You will work with the teacher to accomplish the objectives and goals of the curriculum. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to engage your creative abilities assisting the team with developing activities that provide students with unique and individualized learning activities that promote their interests, needs, and individual development goals in a safe and positive environment. Starting annual salary: $25,439.00 - High School Diploma with Highly Qualified Distinction $26,984.00 - Associate's Degree or attained 48 college credits $29,559.00 - Bachelor's Degree The salary schedule represents a 188-day work year. New employees who begin after the first day of the school year will have their salary prorated to the number of workdays remaining in the school year. 10-month classroom staff is paid over a 12-month time period.
