Job Summary:
Piggy's Restaurant of Lake Harmony, a renowned dining establishment located in the picturesque Lake Harmony, PA, is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about the culinary arts to join our team as Cook. If you have a strong interest in cooking and are eager to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment, this is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your culinary career. No prior experience is necessary as we provide comprehensive training to help you develop the necessary skills and knowledge. (For example: how to flip an egg in a pan).

Responsibilities:

• Assist the culinary team in food preparation and cooking according to Piggy's Restaurant's recipes and standards.
• Learn and execute basic cooking techniques and methods under the guidance of experienced chefs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Adhere to all food safety and handling procedures, including proper storage and labeling.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as directed.
• Embrace the opportunity to learn about various culinary styles and cuisines.
• Strive to continuously improve your culinary skills and knowledge through training and mentorship.
• Help others as needed we are all a team.

Qualifications:

• Passion for cooking and a genuine interest in the culinary arts.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and take direction.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. (If under 18 please bring working papers).
• Culinary education or relevant courses/training.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
