Star Rock Farms is seeking a motivated and people focused Human Resource Generalist to join our growing organization. Star Rock Farms is a third and fourth generation family-owned and operating farming operation in Southeastern Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, supporting employees, ensuring compliance, and helping create a positive workplace culture. The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department including enforcing company policies and practices as well as managing HR-related financial administration. You'll partner with leadership across multiple affiliated companies to manage the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Processes HR-related invoices including benefits providers, recruiting services, training programs, and HR vendors.
- Submits invoices for payment and coordinates with accounting or finance teams.
- Maintains records of HR vendor contracts, billing schedules, and payment documentation.
- Assist with tracking HR department budgets and expenses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1+ years of HR experience preferred
- SHRM-CP certification is a plus
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday
- On-site in Conestoga, PA
