Bridge Highway Estimator / Project Manger

Driscoll Construction Co., Inc. is seeking qualified individuals in the bridge construction and heavy highway industry for an Estimator/Project Manager position .  We are looking for motivated, hardworking individuals to join our team and continue Driscoll’s 75 years of construction expertise.

The person will work with our team of construction professionals in the preparation of heavy highway construction estimates, including various types of bridge structures, sound walls, retaining walls, utilities, railroad structures, support of excavation, and infrastructure projects with values ranging from $5 Million to over $100 Million.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions for bid estimate preparation.
• Know how to read and interpret contract drawings, including: structure drawings, cross sections, drainage, roadway, E&S and MPT.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and thorough, complete cost estimates
• Communicate project requirements to material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform review and analysis of supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Ability to recognize various complexities of projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3+ years working in a Project Estimating / Management role or similar heavy highway role.
• Proficient computer skills with HCSS Heavybid and Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Bluebeam, AGTEK, Primavera, or Trimble Viewpoint a plus.
• Experience with Bridges/Structures required.
• Familiarity with estimating projects and/or working for public entities, such as PennDOT, PA Turnpike, the DRPA, NJ DOT, DelDOT and NJ Turnpike
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate.
