Are you in?Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Direct the personnel and activities of the Project Management Group, including development, definition and implementation of work processes and financial management tools, development and implementation of processes and tools to oversee and effectively manage projects, control costs, assure adherence to schedules, prioritize projects and resources and forecast budgets. Assure the development and effective implementation of strategic initiatives. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and high productivity. Champion the use of the corrective action process and utilize continuous learning. Reinforce safe work behaviors and culture. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties: PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • ComEd --
  • Oversee the development and implementation of short and long term strategic initiatives designed to assure the highest levels of customer services, maximize profitability and achieve Exelon's reliability and customer retention goals. (10%)
  • Manage the overall Project Management budget. Establish and monitor business plans and division objectives. Balance cost control with service level needs. (20%)
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. Leads Project Management team in promoting diversity. Serves as a change agent for business initiatives and assures the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions. (30%)
  • Provide leadership to and development of the Project Management team. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct Performance Planning and Appraisal process. Identifies opportunities for growth and learning. (20%)
  • Interface with other departments in Exelon and represent Exelon to other business units regarding projects under management and tools to support the process. (10%)
  • Facilitates open and honest communication with Project Management staff. Assures that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee grievances and complaints. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives. (10%)
  • PECO --

Job Scope: JOB SCOPE
  • Implement and manage a construction program with annual expenditures in excess of $100 million to meet Company commitments to state and local governments, FERC and external customers.
  • Manager performance of multiple project teams through assigned project managers with direct supervision of 8 - 10 employees and indirect management of 400 contract personnel and 300 employees.
  • Manage the connection of large industrial customers to the transmission and distribution systems, work with the independent power producers to interconnect to transmission system, and manage internal capacity expansion and system performance projects.
  • Interact with all levels of Exelon leadership; manage relationship with key management of client groups; interact with front line employees and contract personnel at all levels.
  • Impact of decisions or errors: Decisions can have impact on organizational strategy, financial performance and reliability. Errors could have significant negative impact on financial results, safety, reliability, customer and employee satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years as a supervisor or manager.
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, associate's degree AND 12-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project management tools, techniques, and contracting. Demonstrated financial management knowledge in Budgeting and Forecasting.
  • Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture.
  • Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency.
  • Proven performance management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively, negotiate, and foster culture change.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.

  • Ability to review and understand contract structure and impact.
Preferred Qualifications:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP Certification
  • Ability to travel up to two weeks at a time
  • 5 years supervisory experience and 5 years managing projects or programs or relevant business experience
  • Electric industry background in the construction, maintenance and troubleshooting of transmission & substation equipment/systems or distribution control systems
  • Contracting strategy knowledge beyond T&E, Unit Price, and Lump Sum
  • Knowledge of contractor Wage Rate analysis
  • Understanding of Long Range Planning (LRP) development, including budget and scoping
  • Ability to create and implement cost control and efficiency strategies
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and create structure, meet due dates and timelines, problem solving

  • Project management experience with IT projects
  • Knowledge of OMS or DMS or Asset Suite 8 systems
  • Ability to work across different levels of leadership, excellent presentation skills and solutioning capabilities

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $147,200.00/Yr. – $202,400.00/Yr. plus an additional $25K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually.
