Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic who can utilize computer-based software or service manuals and electronic engine control diagnostic equipment to diagnose equipment malfunctions. The ideal candidate will inspect vehicles, machines, or equipment to diagnose defects, analyze malfunctions, and determine the required repairs. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining construction equipment, such as skid steers, excavators, hydraulic rigs, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. Testing repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency, as well as welding or fabricating broken parts and structural members as needed, are also part of the role. Additional responsibilities include parts delivery, parts research, work order processing entries, and other duties as assigned by the Equipment Superintendent. Adherence to all established safety standards is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Utilize computer-based software or service manuals and electronic engine control diagnostic equipment to diagnose equipment malfunctions.
- Inspect vehicles, machines, or equipment to diagnose defects and analyze malfunctions.
- Determine required repairs and perform maintenance on construction equipment.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Weld or fabricate broken parts and structural members as required.
- Deliver and research parts, process work order entries, and perform other duties as assigned by the Equipment Superintendent.
- Strictly observe and comply with all established safety standards.
- Troubleshooting heavy equipment and hydraulics.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Maintenance expertise.
- Experience in construction equipment repair and maintenance.
- At least 5 years of heavy equipment maintenance or related expertise.
- Employed in the capacity of heavy equipment maintenance for 12 out of the past 24 months.
- Ability to research and understand technical data, wiring, vacuum, air, and hydraulic diagrams associated with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
The work environment requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or related expertise. The candidate must have been employed in heavy equipment maintenance for at least 12 out of the past 24 months. The ability to research and understand technical data, wiring, vacuum, air, and hydraulic diagrams associated with heavy equipment repair and maintenance is essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Purcellville, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
Will be a perm employee and will have all their benefits from day 1.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Allentown,PA.
