WEST CATHOLIC PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT
West Catholic Preparatory High School is a Catholic community of academic excellence in an urban
environment that is open to an interdenominational population. The school’s rigorous spiritual, academic, technological, and co-curricular programs develop our ethnically and religiously diverse student body into young men and women of strong moral and ethical character. West Catholic prepares each student to face the challenges of everyday life in an ever-changing global society.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
Leadership
- Serve as a member of the School Administration Team
- Cooperate with the Principal in integrating the Catholic Faith and culture into the school's entire program
- Provides personal and visible leadership to all members of the learning community and seeks continuous school improvement in a student-centric environment;
- Cooperative partnership with the Director of Campus Ministry to align student-life initiatives with the school’s Catholic mission
- Lead cross-department coordination and decision-making
- Participate in the evaluation and coaching of teachers
Student Programming
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the school’s activities program in collaboration with activity and club moderators, in consultation with the President and Principal
- Supervise and evaluate activity and club moderators to ensure accountability, effective program delivery, and alignment with school expectations
- Supervise and support Student Council operations, ensuring effective leadership, accountability, and collaboration with faculty moderators
- Organize and support student clubs, dances, proms, and other student events
- Coordinate and supervise student fundraising drives and school-wide programs
- Manage key student ceremonies such as Ring Ceremony, Baccalaureate, and Graduation
- Oversee logistics for school and senior portraits
- Cooperate with the Principal and Director of Campus Ministry in integrating the Catholic Faith and culture into the school's entire program.
Communication
- Prepare the annual and monthly calendars in consultation with the other administrators
- Prepare and distribute homeroom materials, daily announcements
- Prepare communication to be shared with families via multiple forms of media: newsletters, social media, emails, phone calls, and text messages.
Logistical Planning
- Register and schedule all school activities, assemblies and use of the auditorium.
- Coordinate bus transportation for school activities including field trips.
- Assign and coordinate seating charts in auditorium for assemblies.
- Oversee and curate all student-facing bulletin boards as a culture-building tool, ensuring they highlight school values, student achievements, and upcoming events
- Approve all signs and posters for display in public areas of the school
- Supervise and manage the sales of school store.
- Maintain and update all student-facing bulletin boards, ensuring timely, accurate, and visually engaging displays that reflect school culture and upcoming activities
- Assume responsibilities delegated by the Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- At least three years of successful teaching or coaching experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work productively and positively with staff, parents, and community.
- Strong motivational skills.
- Ability to promote an environment which, fosters high expectations for students, staff, and self.
- Successful participation in staff and curriculum development activities.
Requirement: Applicants to be practicing Catholics as verified by the pastor of the parish in which they are registered.
