MSP - Systems/Network/Project Engineer
As a Systems/Network Engineer, you’ll operate as a senior technical resource responsible for both high-level support escalation and project execution within our managed services environment. You’ll own the successful delivery of infrastructure, cloud, and security projects from planning through completion — ensuring technical excellence, clear communication, and client satisfaction every step of the way. You’ll also act as a technical account manager ensuring that our clients ensure the technical expertise and solutions required to ensure their successful business operations. *Key Responsibilities**Technical Escalation & Support** Act as the final point of escalation for complex incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution of critical client issues.
* Troubleshoot and support all aspects of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD
* Design, implement, and maintain Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments.
* Design, implement, and optimize/secure all aspects of client network infrastructure including, but not limited to, routers, firewalls, and switches.
* Perform root cause analysis and create preventive measures for recurring technical problems and security related incidents.
* Configure, deploy, and manage all managed applications including, but not limited to, anti-virus, anti-ransomware, email filtering, and managed SOC.
* Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and EDR/security platforms, ensuring adherence to policy and client SLAs.
* Participate in after-hours or on-call rotations as required. *Project Delivery & Accountability** Design and implement Office 365 and Google Workspace environments and perform varying data migrations where applicable.
* Design and implement network infrastructure for new and existing managed clients.
* Design and implement both physical and virtual infrastructure (Hyper-V and VMware) for new and existing managed clients.
* Accountable for all types of infrastructure, migration, and deployment projects — from requirements/information gathering through delivery.
* Collaborate with management, technical team, and clients to define scope, timelines, and success criteria.
* Ensure project documentation, change management, and handoff processes are completed accurately.
* Track all progress using PSA and provide updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
* Maintain ownership of assigned projects, proactively identifying risks, managing dependencies, and driving completion on schedule.
* Contribute to project standards, templates, and repeatable implementation processes to improve team efficiency. *Leadership & Process Improvement** Mentor Level I and II technicians, assisting with training and knowledge transfer.
* Author and maintain internal documentation and client-facing materials.
* Provide technical insight to improve service delivery, automation, and security posture across clients.
* Collaborate with management to evaluate tools, implement new technologies, and refine best practices. *Required Skills & Experience** Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
* 3+ years of IT experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or similar multi-client environment.
* Deep technical expertise in:
* Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Intune administration
* Windows Server (2016–2025) and Active Directory
* Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Networking (VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls)
* Backup and DR solutions (Datto, Veeam, Acronis, etc.)
* Managed software deployment and management (AV, DNS filtering, etc.)
* Strong understanding of project workflows, task management, and ticket lifecycle within PSA/RMM platforms.
* Proficient with PowerShell scripting and system automation.
* Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting deadlines.

* Experience with Autotask, ConnectWise, or similar PSA/RMM platforms.
