Manufacturing Technician/Pharmaceutical Blending Operator

A specialty pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support production operations for liquid, powder, and solid dosage pharmaceutical products. The company has a national footprint and international research collaborations focused on advancing pharmaceutical technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Weigh raw materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

• Operate, maintain, and clean equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, following SOPs and cGMPs.

• Maintain accurate equipment logs and ensure tooling remains clean and operational.

• Complete and reconcile batch records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Provide assistance with production and packaging tasks as needed.

• Perform cross-functional duties across production departments under the direction of senior management.

• May have authorized access to controlled substance storage areas.

• Follow all safety protocols and comply with cGMP regulations.

• Assist with root cause analyses and investigations related to deviations.

• Contribute to the creation or revision of SOPs for manufacturing operations.

• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions; follow procedures to keep systems operating or request service.

Job Requirements:

• Solid understanding of cGMPs and workplace safety protocols.

• Ability to work independently and in teams while managing multiple priorities.

• Capable of identifying deviations and troubleshooting effectively.

• Able to handle moderately complex tasks and evaluate variables before making decisions.

• Prior experience in a GMP-regulated facility is required.

• Familiarity with machinery, automation, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and safety standards is essential.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Availability for overtime as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with V-Blenders, Granulators, and Tablet Compression equipment is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive hand/wrist movements.

• Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.

• Must have close visual acuity for data entry, inspection, machine operation, and detailed assembly work.

• Exposure to high noise levels, requiring raised voice communication.

• Potential exposure to hazards including moving parts, electrical currents, high heat, and chemicals.

• Possible exposure to atmospheric irritants like dust, fumes, or poor ventilation.

• Must be comfortable working in confined or narrow spaces.
