About The Role...

Our Director of Talent Acquisition, Tech will be responsible for the recruiting strategy for our Engineering, Product, Data Science and AI teams. You will lead and mentor a team of recruiters, partner with cross-functional People teams, and collaborate with leaders and hiring managers across the organization to meet the organization's hiring goals. In addition to overseeing the end-to-end process, you will also lead searches and own a set of requisitions. Whether leading the team or running a search, your responsibilities are to ensure we attract high-quality candidates while fostering an inclusive, engaging, and positive candidate experience.

You will...

• Lead a team of seasoned recruiters to fill software engineering and product management requisitions across our global locations
• Be ready to roll up your sleeves and work with the team to develop a rich pipeline of top technical talent
• Work closely with senior leaders and hiring managers in planning and meeting hiring goals
• Collaborate with hiring managers and interviewers to train, consult, and deliver a consistently distinct and positive experience that reflects Duolingo’s mission and values
• Partner with the relevant Talent Acquisition and People Team Partners to build efficient and effective tools and strategies
• Continuously leverage data and research to guide and influence our recruiting strategy
• Continuously evolve our assessment practices to drive inclusive and objective evaluation processes
• Provide technical recruiting thought leadership to the Talent Acquisition team
• Uphold and share the Duolingo culture and brand

You have...

• Ability to work full-time from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA
• 10+ years of engineering and product recruitment experience at a similar or later-stage tech company
• 5+ years of experience leading a recruiting team
• Consistent track record of effectively managing people, including developing talent on your team, recruiting, and leading a diverse team that reflects our learners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that lead to effective and concrete output
• Experience in defining, influencing, and measuring a successful recruiting strategy
• An understanding and appreciation for the accurate application of data and metrics in recruiting
• Attention to detail and a focus on excellence

• Strong organizational savvy, with the ability to navigate and influence within highly matrixed environments while building effective cross-functional partnerships.
• Proven success leading technical recruiting teams at companies known for exceptionally high hiring standards, driving quality outcomes at scale.

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range

$158,400—$237,600 USD
