Telemarketing Representative

Advent Communications is looking for an enthusiastic Telemarketer to join our team. The telemarketer's goal is to generate opportunities by cold calling into customers / prospects daily. You will be responsible for identifying potential opportunities within our base of existing customers as well as new companies & organizations. The Telemarketer's main objective is to create an interest with organizations in evaluating our products or services, and to schedule appointments for our outside sales representatives.
The ideal candidate must be friendly, gently persuasive as well as patient. You must be able to understand the customer's requirements in a short time and present options that may meet their needs. The goal is to promote business growth by expanding Advent's clientele.
The position can be either full-time or part-time, daily 9am-5pm. Hourly wage. There is room for advancement at Advent, as we are continuing to grow.
Responsibilities
- Cold call using businesses using a given phone directory to position solutions & schedule appointments.
- Answer incoming calls from prospective customers.
- Ask pertinent questions to understand the customer's requirements.
- Persuade the customer to consider Advent Communications for their business' technology needs.
- Record the customer's personal information accurately in Advent's database system.
- Deal with complaints or doubts to safeguard the company's reputation.
- Go the extra mile to meet KPI goals and facilitate future sales.
- Keep records of calls and sales and record useful information.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as telemarketer or similar sales/customer service role.
- Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quotas preferably over the phone.
- Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software), internet and telephone systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in English.
- Skilled in negotiation and dealing with complaints.
- Persistent and results-oriented.
- Patient and able to handle customer rejection.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
