Position Summary:
We are seeking multiple Interpreters/Translators in the Financial Crimes Investigation space to support a high-profile legal matter. This initiative involves translating complex Spanish-language financial documents into English to assist legal counsel in a major financial crimes investigation. Candidates must bring proven expertise in financial, compliance, or regulatory translation and demonstrate exceptional accuracy and discretion in handling sensitive materials.
Essential Duties:
· Translate and interpret large volumes of financial documents, reports, and evidence from Spanish to English for use in attorney briefs and filings.
· Provide high-quality written translations of investigative materials, maintaining accuracy, context, and confidentiality.
· Interpret during meetings, legal discussions, and case strategy sessions, ensuring precise communication between Spanish- and English-speaking parties.
· Collaborate closely with attorneys, compliance professionals, and investigators to ensure legal arguments are supported by accurate documentation.
· Uphold the highest professional standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion.
Qualifications:
· Fluency in English and Spanish, with demonstrated expertise in interpretation and translation (written and spoken).
· 5+ years of experience as an Interpreter/Translator, preferably within banking, compliance, or financial crimes investigations.
· Strong knowledge of financial terminology, compliance frameworks, and investigative/legal documentation.
· Prior experience supporting attorneys, regulatory bodies, or international organizations (UN, World Bank, IMF) highly desirable.
· Professional, polished presence with the ability to support sensitive, high-stakes investigations.
· Certification in interpretation/translation (ATA, NAJIT, or equivalent) preferred.
Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:
· Direct involvement in financial crimes investigations or litigation support.
· Experience rewriting translated documents into polished briefs, filings, or reports.
· Familiarity with international compliance, AML, and regulatory matters.
· Ability to operate in fast-paced, document-heavy environments with attention to detail.
Travel Requirements: Primarily remote. May require occasional travel.
