Paratransit Driver

Each day our drivers transport individuals who rely on our service to doctors' appointments, work, grocery stores, and much more!   • Full-time and permanent schedule
  • **$18.25 / hour
  • **?Hourly rate increase to $20.00 in July for our new drivers!
  • Benefits for full-time employees include:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide door-to-door transportation for passengers safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure passengers are properly secured and aid with all entries and exits.
  • Greet passengers, accept fare payment, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Properly report all incidents, accidents, mechanical concerns.
  • Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Safely transport clients in wheelchair and other mobility devices.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing and have at least three (3) years of licensed driving history.
  • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Punctual with an emphasis on attendance.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical.
  • Clean background and driving record.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English for safety compliance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed to meet client and business demands.
  • 100% of work is accomplished outdoors.
  • Schedules include weekend work.
  • Able to work 9-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 lbs., bend, crouch, twist, and bend frequently. Lifting over 50 lbs., occasionally.

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6--8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
