Bookkeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION

Woodlynde School, one of the nation’s leading K-12 college prep schools for students who learn differently, seeks a part-time (2 days per week ) Bookkeeper. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, paying bills, managing receivables, and ensuring legal requirements are met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Developing a system for managing financial transactions

· Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures

· Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process

· Maintaining accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

· Reconciling financial entries

· Maintaining historical records

· Assisting the Director of Finance in the production of financial statements and reports

· Collecting tuition payments

· Paying bills and making reimbursements

· Payroll

· Strong written and verbal skills

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

· A bachelor’s in business or accounting preferred

· Proven bookkeeping experience

· Blackbaud experience preferred, but not necessary

· Solid understanding of accounts payable/receivable principals

· Mathematics and data entry skills

· Attention to detail

· Familiarity with independent schools is a plus
