Intake Coordinator- RN
The Intake Coordinator- RN handles inquiry calls, schedules assessments, and performs psychiatric assessments for individuals seeking help. Staff provides clinical disposition based on their findings, consult with the psychiatrist, and refers individuals to the appropriate level of care. RN will medically evaluate patient on arrival if patient presents as unstable needing evaluated, on call physician will then be contacted for recommendations. In some cases, will perform job duties of the call specialist if it is a need for the department at that time. Community resources are given, coordination of care with psychiatrists, referring agency and hospital personnel and insurance companies are provided. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, developmental, psychological, educational, and safety-related criteria based on age/population served. Knowledgeable of behaviors and deviations of behaviors consistent with developmental stages of children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Exhibits knowledge of patient rights, advance directives, adult and child abuse laws, and emergency involuntary detention.
Participate in department and other program or clinical and administrative meetings and support maintenance and development of clinical program services. Will adhere to all safety policies and safe work practice. Will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures. Support facility internal and external customer service standards. Participate in General Facility Orientation and Department / Job Orientation, including competencies for this position. Participate and complete all required educational and safety trainings. Participate in all required health and safety initiatives including but not limited to PPE use and fit testing, annual tuberculosis screenings, and annual influenza protocols. Participates in Seclusion & restraint as needed. Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to use appropriate techniques and procedures of seclusion and restraint. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, developmental, psychological, educational, and safety-related criteria based on age/population served. Follows Standard Precautions, Infection Control and Safety policies. Fulfills employee health requirements. Demonstrates ability to ensure safe environment of care. Immediately addresses and reports safety issues using hazard/maintenance report form. Demonstrates ongoing awareness of and participation in the Performance Improvement Program such as completing monitors, attending PI meetings and identifying any PI issues as needed or assigned. Completes required education and trainings. Always Adheres to Department Specific / HR / Safety / EOC / Infection Control and all other appropriate Policies & Procedures of the Hospital.
Qualifications- High School Graduate / GED- Required
- ASN or BSN for an accredited nursing program-Required
- Active RN licensure by the state of Pennsylvania- Requried
- 1-3 years of related experience- Preferred
