Quality Control Technician
Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Job Description
The Quality Control (QC) Manager oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities for a valve manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, machined components, and finished valve assemblies meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, industry standards, and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements. The QC Manager leads inspection processes, drives continuous improvement, and maintains the company’s quality certifications and measuring equipment calibration program.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, machined parts, subassemblies, and finished valves using calibrated measuring tools, gauges, and CMM equipment.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, BOMs, and customer specifications.
- Document non-conformances; issue and track NCRs, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Work closely with machinists, assemblers, and engineers to resolve quality issues quickly and accurately.
- Approve or reject products based on established inspection criteria.
- Serve as the management representative for ISO 9001, ensuring ongoing compliance with all requirements.
- Maintain, update, and enforce quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external surveillance/recertification audits.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and facilitate corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Train employees on quality procedures.
- Develop and oversee the calibration program for all measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, pressure/vacuum test equipment, and torque tools.
- Ensure all tools remain in certification and that calibration records are maintained and traceable.
- Coordinate with external calibration service providers as needed.
- Maintain quality records, inspection logs, calibration certificates, and audit documentation.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly quality metrics to management.
- Support customer documentation requirements such as material test reports (MTRs), pressure test reports, and supplier quality documentation.
- Evaluate supplier performance and support supplier corrective actions.
- Assist purchasing in addressing material defects and quality-related supplier issues.
- Train new employees on inspection methods and quality processes.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the shop.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
