Responsibilities:

The Fair Lending Compliance Specialist supports the Credit Union’s Fair Lending Program by mitigating risk of noncompliance with applicable fair lending laws and regulations (including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act). This role engages in risk mitigation activities to include performing fair lending reviews, training, updating policies and procedures, contributing to the annual fair lending risk assessment, and other duties as assigned by the Fair Lending Compliance Manager. Other duties include, but are not limited to, responding to business unit inquiries, performing research requested, drafting memorandums, and participating in business unit projects.


SKILLS
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop professional relationships to meet organizational strategic objectives
• Displays knowledge of and a pragmatic understanding of consumer compliance statutes and regulations, especially those relating to fair lending (i.e., the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Fair Housing Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act), and guidance provided by regulators
• Proficiency in performing targeted compliance testing for Fair Lending and HMDA reviews
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
• Strong working knowledge or ability to learn Credit Union programs and lending department’s respective loan operating systems
• Self-starter, able to take responsibility and work independently
• General knowledge and experience with compliance programs and specific knowledge of software used to analyze fair lending trends and specific experience using data to create studies
• Ability to recognize trends and advise on policy and procedure changes

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
• Ability to sit for extended time periods
• Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
• Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

Qualifications:

3-5 years of related experience

Education Level: General and business knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree Certifications: Certification in Financial Institution Compliance (CRCM, NCCO, etc.) or obtain within 2 years of hire; Fair Lending Industry Certifications Compensation Overview:

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. We believe in recognizing and rewarding talent, so our compensation packages are thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique qualifications and contributions of each candidate.

The minimum salary for this position is: $63,000.00+/yr About Us:
