ER RN Job Details – Pennsylvania Travel Nursing

• Position Type: Travel Contract – Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ER)
• Location: Saint Marys, PA 15857 (Elk County)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Nursing Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 07:30 – 19:30, Nights: 19:00 – 07:00); 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required (Every Other Weekend)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Unit Size: 13 beds
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Scrubs: Navy
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
• Active Pennsylvania RN license or compact state RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Experience with Cerner EMR charting
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and Childline registration upon contract signing
• Lab work required within 72 hours of contract signing
• No local candidates (must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Saint Marys, PA)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a busy Emergency Department serving neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform triage, assessment, and emergency interventions for diverse patient diagnoses
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and manage central lines and ventilated patients
• Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and manage acute psychiatric and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Follow isolation precautions, stroke protocols, and emergency department best practices
