Rusty Rail Brewing Company is hiring a Front of House Shift Supervisor. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for orchestrating exceptional food service, what we consider to be unbeatable customer service and operations. You'll manage the dining room-including servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and food runners-by directing and motivating your team to deliver casual fine dining food and provide customer service that elicits genuine smiles from our customers. At the Rusty Rail, we are not interested in giving good customer service. We strive to create an experience that is unique to our establishment and combines exceptional food quality, unrivalled customer service, and an extraordinary ambiance.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate employees through constant communication during service
- Ensure guests are always receiving exceptional customer service
- Monitor food quality as it moves from the kitchen to the dining room; ensure that food is prepared and served in the appropriate quantity and with the utmost quality
- Ensure operations are in accordance with sanitation and safety standards
- Start-up and shut-down of restaurant equipment and processes (opening/closing shifts)
- Jump in to assist all FOH positions during peak hours of operation
- Perform administrative duties including required shift reports, both written and using the POS system
Job Requirements
Our ideal shift supervisors possess the following:
- A high school diploma; associate degree in culinary studies or food and hospitality management is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in restaurant supervision or management; full-service and fine dining a plus
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Point of Sale systems (Toast)
- Ability to be on one's feet at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills-clear and professional demeanor
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize efficiently
- A personable, friendly, and outgoing personality-must enjoy interacting with, motivating, and and assisting others
- Sincerity, honesty, and candidness with team members and customers alike
- A belief that no one is "above" any job-it takes a team to make a shift run smoothly
- Initiative, drive, and a self-starting work ethic
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage employees
- A love for the restaurant business and desire to create "Best In Class" guest experience
