DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview :

As a Senior Application Architect you can be based in either Pittsburgh, PA or in Cleveland or in Columbus, OH.

As part of the team, this role will focus on understanding current and future business requirements and then work with architecture and engineering teams on the overall direction and future java solutions. You will work with the application development teams in successfully adopting new solutions and standards.

Initially this lead role will focus on transforming an existing online application to Microservices based architecture and running them in containerized environment as we redesign this portal grounds up. Also transforming the back-end data store to be more conducive to handle large volumes of data.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

-Bachelor\\\'s Degree Required.

-Master\\\'s Degree / Certifications Desirable.

-8+ to 10 years of relevant experience.

-Expert knowledge in Microservices Architecture with experience in transforming a legacy Java application into Microservices/container based architecture.

-Extensive experience in Java, Spring Frameworks, REST/Webservices, API Development, Web Portal Development and security architecture.

-Experience in design thinking, Agile/SCRUM and working with cross functional teams.

-Experience in NoSQL and Big Data Technologies is desired.

-TOGAF preferred

-Leads in the overall design of cross-functional, multi-platform, and Web-based application systems.

-Oversees all application system processes.

-Develops application architecture and blueprints aimed at reflecting enterprise business logic.

-Defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. Directs mapping activities on specific technology platforms.

-Provides technical guidance to application development teams.

-Consults on integration and conversion activities.

-Conducts reviews, and analyses organizational needs and goals to develop and implement applications.
