Petal and Bloom also offers weekly floral subscriptions to both businesses and individuals in the surrounding areas as well as floral design workshops for groups of every size.

Position Overview

Petal and Bloom is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Floral Studio Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of a busy wedding and events floral studio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, and is excited to be part of bringing beautiful events to life.

The schedule will be variable week to week depending on the event schedule of the studio, so flexibility is a must. Some weeks you might work 20 hours, others might be 5 hours or less. You will know your work schedule 2-3 weeks in advance.

Compensation

· Starts at $15-$18/hour with the potential to grow with greater responsibility

Key Responsibilities

Studio Operations & Maintenance

· Clean and sanitize buckets, vases, tools, and other hard goods following events

· Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient studio workspace

· Assist in organizing and optimizing storage areas for improved workflow and accessibility

Event Preparation

· Pull and prepare vessels, mechanics, and supplies for upcoming weddings and events

· Inventory and restock studio materials as needed

· Support production timelines by ensuring all materials are prepped and ready for design work

· Opportunity to learn design skills or use your current design skills for event production.

Floral Processing & Care

· Process incoming flowers, including trimming, hydrating, and proper storage

· Monitor flower quality and care throughout the week

· Assist in prepping blooms for event design and installations

Delivery Support

· Execute occasional deliveries of floral arrangements to homes and businesses - must be comfortable driving into the city of Philadelphia

· Load, transport, and unload flowers with care and professionalism

Event & Wedding Assistance

· Provide on-site support for event setup and breakdown (primarily on weekends)

· Assist with installations, placement of arrangements, and general event logistics

· Represent the studio professionally when interacting with clients and vendors

Qualifications

· Prior floral or event experience is preferred but not required

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

· Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting buckets, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (for delivery responsibilities) and reliable transportation

· Weekend availability for event work is a must

· Must love dogs
