SHIPPING AND RECEIVING INSPECTION CLERK

Join the Abacus family.   Basic Scope/Purpose: Performs inspection of incoming raw materials, strip terminals and connectors, according to incoming inspection requirements, to ensure product conformation to blueprint and quality specifications. Utilization of visual and various inspection instruments and procedures are required for job completion. With the use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, compiles all needed shipping certifications, inspection records, email data, etc. which are required to accompany outgoing product shipments. Maintains computer generated files for incoming material traceability along with completed job/work order inspection data.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs microscope inspection of raw material and reeled terminals to examine for visual defects such as chip marks, misfeeds, tool marks, burrs, fractures, dimple appearance, flaking of plating, discoloration of plating and similar characteristics. Performs mechanical inspection of incoming raw material and reeled terminals following established inspection procedures and prescribed inspection instruments such as comparator, micrometer, functional gages, (sheer force gages, insertion-extraction gages etc.) special gages, various plug gages, go-no-go gages, fracture testers, and other related instruments to ensure conformance to blueprint and terminal quality specifications. Completes receiving process to assign receiver/trace numbers to all incoming product and completes inspection in the MRP system. Reviews and verifies all Certificates of Compliance from all vendors are in specification to print and/or customer requirements. Reviews all shipping documents and completes necessary documents to complete shipments. Maintains daily receiving and incoming inspection records of raw material and product being received from secondary operations. Prepares all necessary forms and inspection reports for this incoming material. Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized. Perform related duties as assigned. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
