Community Health Center - Retail Pharmacy Manager

The Retail Pharmacy Manager will grow the health center’s first entity owned pharmacy and clinical services. The ideal manager will be an enthusiastic and compassionate team member. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and passionate pharmacist who can make our patients feel at home with our pharmacy. Familiarity with the 340B program is a plus, but we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful. Cardinal Health is looking for a highly motivated pharmacist to manage an onsite entity owned retail pharmacy located within a partner health center. Our pharmacists play an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes immunizations, patient consultation, medication therapy management, and management of high risk patients.

This position is located at Spectrum Health Services 5201 Haverford Ave. Philadelphia, PA

Pharmacy Hours: Monday - Thursday: 9AM to 6PM , Friday: 9AM to 5PM, Saturday -Sunday: Closed

(subject to change to accommodate clinic growth)

Responsibilities

  • Collabora te with administrative and physician leadership within partner c ommunity h ealth c enter to implement pharmacist driven clinical and dispensing services to the patients served .

  • Develop and implement collaborative practice agreements to help drive patient medication compliance for high risk patients .

  • Implement best practices and ensure department compliance with 340B rules and regulations .

  • Ensure adequate staffing is present to fulfill the needs of the pharmacy and health center.

  • Maintain accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed.

  • Ensure policies are in place regarding accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions and those policies are followed.

  • Recommend, develop and collaborate with h ealth c enter leadership in implementing clinical pharmacy programs to optimize outcomes of our patient populations.

  • Ensure that security of the prescription area and its contents are maintained at all times, including the restriction of persons unauthorized by the pharmacist on duty from being present in the prescription area while the pharmacist is temporarily absent but within the premises and the reporting of any thefts and/or diversions of controlled substances are reported upon discovery to the Office of Drug Control and the Drug Enforcement Administration pursuant to Federal and State requirements.

  • Ensuring only pharmacists and interns or externs under immediate personal supervision provide professional consultation with patients and physicians.

  • Ensuring that no misbranded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stored or outdated drugs or any drugs marked ‘‘sample’’ or with any like designation or meaning are dispensed or present in the active stock in the pharmacy.

  • Maintaining the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner.

  • Maintaining that pharmacy and all pharmacy personnel comply with all f ederal and s tate statutes, rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required, PharmD preferred .

  • 1 year pharmacy management experience, 2-5 years related pharmacy experience .

  • Pharmacist registration in the state where the position is located .

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule .

  • Interpersonal relations and customer service skills .

  • Multitasking and time management skills .

  • 340B experience preferred, not required .

  • Clinical ambulatory pharmacy experience and/or interest a definite plus .

Anticipated salary range: $123,100-$184,590
