Chief Marketing Officer

Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary Chief Marketing Officer to lead our marketing strategy and drive explosive growth across all channels. As CMO, you'll be responsible for building and scaling our marketing organization while expanding our presence in the competitive Shopify app ecosystem. This role offers the opportunity to shape the marketing strategy for a rapidly growing SaaS company in the e-commerce space.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to accelerate user acquisition, retention, and revenue growth
• Build and lead a high-performing marketing team across multiple disciplines (digital marketing, content, product marketing, growth)
• Collaborate closely with CEO and executive team to align marketing initiatives with business objectives
• Own the marketing P&L and demonstrate clear ROI across all marketing investments

Growth & Acquisition

• Design and implement multi-channel acquisition strategies targeting Shopify merchants
• Optimize the Shopify App Store presence and conversion funnel
• Develop partnerships with Shopify Plus partners, agencies, and complementary app providers
• Launch and scale paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels
• Build content marketing programs that establish Tapita as a thought leader in e-commerce SEO

Product Marketing

• Lead go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases
• Develop compelling messaging and positioning that differentiates Tapita in the crowded SEO tool market
• Create and optimize onboarding experiences that drive user activation and retention
• Collaborate with product team to ensure marketing insights inform product roadmap

Team Building & Operations

• Recruit, hire, and develop a world-class marketing team
• Establish marketing operations, processes, and performance metrics
• Implement marketing automation and analytics infrastructure
• Foster a data-driven marketing culture focused on experimentation and optimization

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of marketing leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a CMO or VP Marketing role
• Proven track record of scaling SaaS companies from $1M to $10M+ ARR
• Deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and e-commerce merchant needs
• Experience marketing to SMB customers with strong product-led growth expertise
• Expertise in digital marketing channels including SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing
• Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, HubSpot, or similar platforms
• Experience building and managing marketing teams of 5-15 people
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience at a Shopify app company or e-commerce SaaS platform
• Background in SEO, digital marketing, or related technical marketing disciplines
• Experience with freemium or trial-based business models
• Track record of successful app store optimization (Shopify App Store, mobile app stores)
• International marketing experience, particularly in English-speaking markets
• Experience with marketing attribution and advanced analytics
