Purpose: The Accountant will be responsible for assisting in properly recording and accounting for business activities according to GAAP. Essential Functions

• Partners with third party auditors on a quarterly and annual basis to review/resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with all applicable accounting practices10%
• In partnership with department leadership, sets up monthly meetings to determine monthly accruals and forecast for spend. Resolves variances from previous months' accruals to dollars actually invoiced. Manages 5-6 million dollar budget. 20%
• Assist in monthly financial statement close, quarterly close and annual close. Prepare and provide reporting for quarterly and annual audit. 20%
• Prepare and post General Ledger entries and prepare supporting documentation for management's review.15%
• Prepare and maintain departmental cost center reports and communicate monthly with various company department heads to discuss actual vs. forecast performance, thereby providing exposure to many areas of the Company. 10%
• Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger balance sheet reconciliations, resolve discrepancies and explain significant month to month and year over year variances. 10%
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time, often in short notice.10%
• Research current/recent GAAP pronouncements 5%

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Required or Preferred)

• Education: BS in Accounting required
• Licenses / Certifications / Training: CPA Candidate preferred
• Years of related experience: 0 - 3 years
• Required skills & abilities: Interpersonal savvy, time management, technical learner, and problem solving.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal Travel Required (1 - 2x per year)
• Other Requirements: N/A
